Privacy policy

This policy explains what ASVAB Commander collects when you use asvabcommander.com, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, a password (stored only in scrambled form that we cannot read), and a phone number if you choose to give one.
- Study activity: the answers you give, your diagnostic and exam scores, your progress by topic, your daily activity and streak, and your rank.
- Leaderboard nickname: only if you choose one. Other members see the nickname and your weekly count of correct answers, never your email.
- Purchases: what you bought, when, the amount, and the email the order was sent to. Card details go straight to our payment provider and never reach our servers.
- Technical data: the companies that host the site receive your IP address and browser type as part of delivering pages, as with any website.
- Usage data: through Google Analytics, which pages you visit, your device and browser type, your approximate location (city or country), where you came from, and which steps you complete, such as starting the diagnostic or buying a book. It is not linked to your name or email.
How we use it
- To run your account, grade your answers and show your progress.
- To take payment, give you access to what you paid for and deliver PDF downloads.
- To send emails about your account, such as confirming your address, receipts and renewal or reminder notices.
- To see how the site is used in total, fix problems and prevent abuse.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show advertising.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run the site. They handle your data only to provide their service to us:
- Supabase stores accounts, questions, scores and files.
- Netlify hosts the website.
- Stripe processes payments.
- Google Fonts delivers the fonts the site uses to your browser.
- Google Analytics measures how the site is used, in total.
Video links open YouTube, which has its own privacy policy. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Storage in your browser
The site keeps you signed in, saves an exam in progress and remembers which flashcards you know by storing small pieces of data in your browser. We also use Google Analytics cookies to count visits and see which pages and steps work. We do not use advertising cookies. You can block analytics in your browser’s privacy settings or with Google’s opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and study history for as long as your account exists. Purchase records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your profile and study history within 30 days.
Your choices
- Ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion of your account by emailing admin@asvabcommander.com.
- Clear or change your leaderboard nickname at any time on the Leaderboard page.
- Cancel membership renewal at any time.
Depending on where you live, you may have further legal rights over your personal information. We will honor a verified request wherever you are.
Children
ASVAB Commander is for people preparing to take the ASVAB, who are generally 16 or older. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email us and we will delete it.
Security
Connections to the site are encrypted. Access rules in our database stop one account from reading or changing another account's records. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a password you do not use elsewhere.
